With the multitalented concrete technicians and finishers on the crew at Custom Concrete Contracting, our team gets called on to do a variety of work throughout the Pacific Northwest: roundabouts for local governments, pervious concrete driveways for residential properties, traditional driveways for housing developments, concrete drive-throughs for fast food restaurants, garage floors, pool decks, retaining walls and many more.
Below is a sampling of some of the top-quality work Custom Concrete has been contracted for recently in Whatcom and Skagit counties, beginning with what has become one of CCC’s top specialties: roundabout construction.
Roundabout for the City of Anacortes

In beautiful Anacortes, down in Skagit County, Custom Concrete Contracting crewmembers have played an important role in the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Oakes Avenue/Highway 20 Spur and Ship Harbor Boulevard/Glasgow Way. The Ship Harbor Roundabout, as it’s been dubbed, features a landscaped center, stamped-brick pavement, ADA ramps, protection for pedestrians and bicyclists and an enclosed storm drainage system. The roundabout is expected to be open for traffic sometime this spring.
Pervious concrete driveway in Bellingham

For a homeowner in Bellingham, Custom Concrete recently installed about 2,600 square feet of pervious roadway. The pervious concrete went down in place of asphalt, so the new surface will be much more environmentally friendly – allowing rainwater to drain right through, replenishing groundwater and keeping the rain from carrying pollutants from the road surface into the storm drains. The result is a long, beautiful pervious concrete driveway that will serve the homeowner for years to come.
New drive-through at the King Street McDonalds

When the McDonalds restaurant on King Street in Bellingham went under the knife for a refresh, Custom Concrete Contracting was called in to handle the concrete, including a large sidewalk skirt surrounding the building and new concrete surfaces and curbs for the dual drive-through. Custom Concrete worked as a subcontractor for Ziva Enterprises in Auburn on this concrete flatwork job. Among other work Custom Concrete has done recently for Ziva, we’ve worked on the concrete at a McDonalds in Lynnwood and at a Taco Bell.
Site work for Nooksack housing development

Have you heard of Whispering Meadows? It’s a new housing development in North Whatcom County, between Sumas River and Nooksack Road on the north end of the town of Nooksack. Custom Concrete was asked to do some concrete work there, including a concrete driveway and front porch.
Those are just a handful of the many projects Custom Concrete has been working on recently. Whether your upcoming construction projects calls for any of the above concrete flatwork tasks or is something completely different, please consider giving Custom Concrete a call. Our teams of concrete installers are experts in Pacific Northwest concrete construction.
