Our concrete installation crews recently worked on this patio project in Whatcom County that included decorative stamped and stained stairs, patio spaces and custom concrete column caps.
We love working on outdoor living projects like this because of the creative use of color and texture – there are so many options available when it comes to working with concrete!
This project was at a new home (built by Pearson Construction) – Custom Concrete Contracting was brought in to frame and install hard surfaces around the property.
Because we were working so close to the newly constructed home, extra care was taken to protect painted surfaces, stone columns and exterior siding. Our crews carefully wrapped the home to protect surfaces as we set up, poured and finished all the concrete elements (shown in the image below).
Once the project was framed, we poured concrete, added a color release agent and added saw cut lines (beveled edge cuts shown below) as a design feature – then surfaces were sealed so everything had the smooth, glossy finish homeowners desire in today’s market.
Custom Concrete Contracting poured, stamped, colored and sealed the tops of the decorative concrete staircase shown below – stone façade work was completed by another company. This beautiful concrete staircase was designed and built to last for decades!
To tie everything together, we poured, colored and sealed concrete caps on top of the columns shown below. The caps were designed to match the patio entrance stairs as well as the decorative stonework applied to post columns and staircase risers. We think the entire project turned out beautifully – what do you think?
